Root canal therapy at Bupa Dental

The blood vessels, nerves and other tissues inside your tooth are known as tooth pulp. When this becomes infected or contaminated by decay, root canal treatment could restore the health of your tooth.

Symptoms of infected or contaminated pulp often include pain throughout your mouth or in a specific tooth, discolouration or darkening, gum swelling or sensitivity, while some people may not notice any symptoms at all.

Root canal therapy is the process of removing the decayed sections of pulp and tooth and residual bacteria. Your dentist will fill the remaining cavity with a material called “gutta-percha.”
