Dr Lopez has volunteered in rural communities, gaining insight into the difficulties many people face in accessing dental and medical care, including having to travel long distances or plan carefully around limited services. She has also volunteered providing dental care to blind children, an experience that called for a different, hands-on style of explanation and care. She was drawn to dentistry by the chance to combine precise, technical skill with helping people, having had a positive experience with her own dentist as a child and wanting to give the same back to her patients.
Dr Lopez finds it rewarding to relieve pain and discomfort, and to help patients reach the best possible outcome for their oral health. She is known for her calm manner and takes a patient-centred approach that helps nervous patients feel safe and overcome their anxiety about visiting the dentist. She is well suited to working with children, and patients describe her as empathetic and good-humoured.
She provides thorough preventive care and tailored treatment plans, along with the education patients need to protect their long-term wellbeing. She talks through expectations and treatment steps in plain language, giving patients time to ask questions and raise any concerns. Outside the clinic, she enjoys an easy-going lifestyle with convenient access to nearby major cities.
