Dr Song’s interest in dentistry grew from a love of science and a preference for hands-on, detail-focused work. Her attention to the finer details of clinical practice is central to the quality of care she provides. She has experience supporting medically compromised and older patients, and brings a thoughtful approach to managing more complex care needs.
Building connections with her patients is what Dr Song enjoys most about her work. She is committed to patient education and takes time to share her knowledge around oral hygiene and disease prevention, explaining treatment options clearly and tailoring information to each patient’s circumstances. Seeing improvements at recall appointments as patients apply what they have learned is something she finds particularly rewarding.
Dr Song is gentle, empathetic, and takes a collaborative approach that makes dental care feel less stressful for patients. She tailors each appointment to suit individual preferences and is skilled at making visits positive and engaging for anxious patients. Having recently relocated to Melbourne from Sydney, she is building connections within the local community and warmly welcoming new patients.
Before pursuing dentistry, Dr Sujak Bakir worked as a firefighter. His time in emergency services strengthened his ability to communicate clearly under pressure, perform with precision, and provide compassionate support in challenging situations. Dentistry offered the opportunity to bring these qualities into a career that combines clinical skill, preventive healthcare and the chance to build meaningful long-term relationships with patients.
Dr Sujak Bakir is motivated by the opportunity to improve both oral health and overall wellbeing, and to help patients get out of pain and move forward with confidence. What he values most is continuity of care. He takes genuine satisfaction in seeing patients over many years, being present for the different milestones in their lives and remaining a consistent part of their dental journey.
He brings clear communication, meticulous attention to detail and a patient-centred approach to every appointment. His goal is to build lasting relationships based on trust, and to create a relaxed and supportive environment where patients feel comfortable raising their concerns and confident in their treatment decisions.
Dr Sharma's professional interests include general dentistry, with a focus on restorative and cosmetic dentistry, preventive care, and treating children and anxious patients.
Dr Sharma trained at James Cook University, completing placements across Far North Queensland, Darwin and Hobart, which gave her the opportunity to treat a diverse range of patients and communities. These experiences taught her to adapt her communication and approach to suit each patient and helped her develop into a clinician who values listening, clear communication and making sure patients feel heard and comfortable in the dental chair.
Dr Sharma was drawn to dentistry because it brings together science, art and hands-on work, along with the chance to build long-term relationships within the community. She finds it rewarding to change the way people feel about visiting the dentist, particularly those with dental anxiety, and enjoys helping patients feel safe, comfortable and understood. She also likes educating patients so they can make informed, confident decisions about their oral health.
Dr Sharma is a good listener and communicative and pays close attention to detail. Her goal is to help patients understand their oral health and build the confidence to manage it long term, and to build long-term relationships with patients and their families based on trust.
Dr Pruthi completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Master of Dental Surgery in India before completing certification through the Australian Dental Council to practise in Australia. She has completed specialist training in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Medicine. Alongside her clinical work, she is currently completing a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Melbourne, researching molecular biomarkers for the early detection of oral cancer. This research background directly informs how she assesses risk and guides patients on prevention in everyday practice.
In the clinic, Dr Pruthi takes a listening-first approach. She takes time to understand not just the clinical concern, but how each patient feels about it and what matters to them. She explains findings clearly and works to help patients feel informed and in control of their care.
Dr Pruthi is dedicated to providing thorough, kind care and to building long-term relationships that support her patients’ oral health well into the future.
