Maintain the power of your smile

Smiling releases plenty of mood enhancing chemicals like endorphins, dopamine and serotonin. So when we smile, we feel good from mouth to toe and have the confidence to take on the world. You could say smiling is a natural drug.

Check-up and clean

Every toothy grin and beaming smile needs regular, comprehensive care to help perform at its best. We recommend at least two annual visits to the dentist to maintain a year-round healthy smile.

These check-ups help your dentist understand your needs, discuss any issues, and recommend a plan to help you look after your pearly whites. Your dentist can also expertly clean your teeth to keep your smile shining.

With eligible Bupa Hospital and Extras cover that includes general dental, your visit could be gap-free*. Now that’s something to smile about.

FAQs

A check-up involves an examination of your teeth, mouth and gums.  The dentist will look for any changes since your last visit and make a note of any existing fillings or tooth conditions you may have, e.g. tooth wear. A check-up can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes, depending on your dental needs and any discussions or questions you may wish to ask your dentist. For most people, every 6 months is recommended, though this can vary depending on an individual’s oral health needs. Your dentist will advise you if they recommend staying away from food or drink after your clean.  This will depend upon whether they have professionally applied a medicament to your teeth such as fluoride.
