Bupa Dental - Rochedale Wheelchair access / Accessible entry Your smile is often one of the first things that people notice about you, so it’s important to keep yours as healthy and bright as possible. The experienced team at Bupa Dental Rochedale is here to help. Our friendly, comfortable clinic is located centrally in Rochedale, only 15 minutes from Brisbane’s CBD and 30 minutes from the Gold Coast. We’re also easily accessible via public transport. We offer a wide range of services to keep your whole family smiling. Whether you’re in need of a check-up to keep on top of your oral hygiene, or you need help with something a little more complicated, we’ll work with you to find a personalised solution to suit your needs. On your first visit with us, we’ll ask you to complete a medical and dental history form. The form helps us understand any existing medical conditions, earlier dental work or medications you may be taking. This enables us to carefully tailor your treatment plan according to your needs and improve your treatment outcome. We’ll take the time to speak with you in detail about any concerns or questions you may have regarding your teeth, jaw or gums. After that, we’ll perform a comprehensive review (which may include some x-rays) to help us understand your oral health. When this is complete, we’ll put together a personalised plan. Before any work begins, we’ll explain this plan in detail. We want to make sure you’ve got all the information you need to make an informed decision about your treatment, including any costs involved. We offer a wide variety of services, including cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, dentures and assistance with periodontics. We believe in providing exceptional customer service and guarantee to treat our patients the way we would treat our own family. With a highly experienced team of both male and female dentists, you can be confident that your family is in trusted hands. Your care, comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities, and we look forward to seeing you at Bupa Dental Rochedale soon. GHGQ Accreditions 1

Meet our staff Dr Greg Thomas' initial career interests were in medical research. He completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in biochemistry followed by a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in the field of medical neuroscience. Once he completed his doctorate, Greg returned to the University of Queensland to focus on building a career in dentistry. Greg has moulded his craft and combined oral health with total body wellbeing. He is passionate about preventive long-term health with interests in minimal invasive dentistry, family dental health, sleep disorders, facial/dental development and jaw problems (TMJD). He regularly helps his patients achieve straighter smiles via cosmetic braces and Invisalign. Away from the practice, Greg lives with his wonderful wife, Sara, and their two boys. He enjoys being in the outdoors (camping, bushwalking and the beach), playing soccer and practicing Taekwon-Do with his boys. Dr Barnes completed his degree at University of Queensland. His particular interests include Invisalign, whitening, crowns, bridges, veneers, and implant-retained restorations.

"Nothing is more professionally satisfying than seeing a patient's eyes light up when they see their new smile for the first time", says Dr Barnes. Prior to working at Bupa Dental Rochedale, Dr Barnes spent a few years working for rural dental practices in Miles and Dalby.

As a member of the Australian Dental Association, and a member of the International Team for Implantology, Dr Barnes is a perfect choice as your dental Practitioner. He is dynamic, incredibly astute and has huge attention to detail. He will make sure that the treatment you receive is first rate and you are thrilled with the results.
Dr Tony Hsu started his career as a dentist after earning his degree (with honours!) from Griffith University. But even before he was caring for teeth, Dr Hsu was working to protect people’s health – he previously acted as a pharmacist and worked to develop medications for unmet medical needs. Dr Hsu is a member of the Australian Dental Association and, as a student, was invited to the Golden Key honour society. He enjoys helping his patients restore their smiles through teeth replacement, or even just seeing their oral health improve by when they use the hygiene techniques they’ve learned from our team. His biggest focus is making sure people understand the importance of their oral health, emphasising that prevention is often the best treatment. “We need to maintain our oral health,” he says. “Like maintaining a car, it requires servicing to help pick up issues early and even prevent the development of bigger problems.” When Dr Hsu isn’t working in the clinic, he enjoys travelling and exploring new places, as well as basketball, fishing and being with his family and friends. With 16 years of experience in dentistry, Dr Howie Chee is a calming, gentle dentist with special interests in wisdom teeth removal and cosmetic dentistry. Whether it's in Mandarin, Cantonese, or English, he is passionate about helping people love their smiles and improve their oral health.

Howie always strives to prioritise each individual's needs and customises treatment plans accordingly. He is especially sensitive to the needs of anxious patients, offering IV sedation for their benefit and working hard to create a calm and comfortable environment. Howie aims to keep patients fully informed about their treatments and believes that full transparency is key to ensuring a positive dentistry experience.

Outside of the practice, Howie loves spending quality time with his family, and his favourite ways to recharge include running and playing music.
Dr Pavrita Vibhakar is a compassionate, empathetic dentist with interests in braces and aligners, smile and aesthetics, as well as oral pathology. Driven by her volunteer work, she has developed a strong sense of understanding towards patient needs.

For Pavrita, dentistry represents the perfect blend of art, science, and community service. She believes that delivering the best patient care goes beyond simply focusing on teeth, and that it should consider the overall well-being of each individual.

Whether in English, Hindi, Gujarati or Marathi, Pavrita is dedicated to providing a comfortable and positive experience for her patients while working to ease any anxiety. Additionally, she is passionate about improving oral health through a focus on prevention and long-term well-being.

In her free time, Pavrita cherishes the innocent smiles of her own toddler, who means the world to her. She finds solace in traveling and painting, which nourish her soul and inspire her creativity.
Dr Ronald Yong pursued dentistry with the dream to provide relief to those in pain, and to help improve health. Whether practicing in English, Mandarin or Malay, today he’s living this dream, and loves helping people enjoy good food and achieve healthier smiles. His favourite areas of the profession include crowns, bridges and restorative dentistry.

Ronald loves that his job lets him meet new people, and enjoys getting to know each patient and their unique perspectives. He aims to treat each individual with a personal, tailored approach, hearing each person’s concerns and explaining how each treatment option could help. Ronald also believes in frequent communication during each procedure, checking in on patients regularly to ensure they’re as comfortable as possible.

When he’s not at work, Ronald can often be found embracing his passion for music, and is an avid piano-player. He’s also big on long-distance running and spending quality time with his family.
