Bupa Dental - Petrie Wheelchair access / Accessible entry Bupa Dental is committed to helping make Petrie smiles brighter and healthier, with our experienced staff delivering high-quality, convenient dental care in a friendly environment.

Looking after your oral health is essential for your health and wellbeing, which is why we begin your first consultation with a comprehensive assessment of the health of your teeth, and discuss with you any concerns or goals you may have about your oral health. This helps us tailor a treatment plan that is right for your individual requirements and circumstances. Our caring dentists are happy to explain treatment options in depth, allowing you to make informed decisions along the way.

We focus on protecting your smile through prevention and early detection of oral health problems. Our goal is to keep your teeth strong and healthy for life, while helping you avoid preventable problems that can be painful (and often costly). To help do this, we offer a wide range of dental services, from basic check-ups to more involved treatments like dental implants. For patients who want both protection and an improved look, we also offer services such as teeth whitening and dental veneers.

With expertise in health services , an experienced dental team, and a convenient location in Petrie, Bupa Dental makes getting high-quality care easy so you can feel comfortable both in and out of the dentist’s chair.

Meet our staff Dr Andrew Boorer has been caring for patients in the Petrie community for over 20 years. Following in his father's footsteps, Dr Boorer is committed not only to his patients' dental needs but also their overall health and wellbeing. Staying up-to-date with the latest treatments and procedures is important to Andrew. He consistently invests his time participating in additional courses and programs. As a Las Vegas Institute (LVI) graduate, Andrew has excellent insight and skills in advanced dental techniques and concepts. LVI training has enabled him to look at a patient’s complete health situation to try and find the underlying cause of the problem. Dr Boorer and his wife, Karen, are kept busy with their three sons, Flynn, Ned and Archer. When not at work, he loves spending time with family and friends. He usually spends weekends watching the boys play various sports and squeezing in his many recreational pursuits, which include triathlons and trail running. During the football season, if you hear someone shouting out “Go the Bombers” you can safely bet it will be him! Having graduated from the University of Queensland and many years of experience, Dr Ian is comfortable with most aspects of general dentistry, including wisdom teeth removal, endodontic treatment and crowns. Dr Ian believes that prevention is often better than treatment, and with his passion in educating patients and helping them to understand the many factors behind various issues in the mouth, Ian hopes to bring his patients along on the process towards a healthy and confident smile. Dr Ian understands that often treatment is required however, and he works hard to reassure patients and provide treatment in a gentle and effective manner.

Outside of work, Ian enjoys spending time with his wife and being involved with various aspects of his local church. Ian has spent years as a youth leader and enjoys connecting with youth and young adults. Ian’s passions include teaching, and he enjoys teaching and helping others in his various areas of interest, including music and finance/property investing.
Dr Andrew Li graduated from James Cook university from Cairns, North Queensland. In his final year of university, he received the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons’ Academic Prize, offered to those who have demonstrated outstanding performance. Andrew has undertaken his placements in Mackay and Townsville, and has accumulated thousands of hours of clinical experience, in both public and private settings.

Andrew’s main interests in dentistry are restorations, gum treatments, as well as crown and bridgework. He believes in thorough communication and explanation of treatment plans to empower patients to take control of their own oral health, as well as being a firm believer in the value of preventative dentistry. In his spare time, he likes listening to music and reading, as well as photography and digital image enhancing.
Dr Sein Way embarked on a career in dentistry driven by a genuine commitment to helping others. During university breaks, she selflessly volunteered her dental services in rural countries such as Vietnam and Myanmar. Today, as a practicing dentist, she continues to love making a positive impact on people's lives, bringing smiles and confidence to her patients.

Sein's warm personality radiates in her interactions with patients. She thoroughly enjoys working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, finding immense joy in establishing authentic connections. With her gentle and kind-hearted nature, she takes particular satisfaction in assisting patients who experience dental anxiety. And for all her patients, she strives to address their concerns attentively, ensuring they feel genuinely understood and heard.

Outside of her professional life, Sein proudly identifies as a foodie. When she's not at work, she indulges in cooking and eating great food (and lots of it!). To balance her love for food, she embraces long hikes and gym sessions to stay active. As a passionate traveller (and being originally from the UK), she eagerly looks forward to exploring more of Australia's wonders.
